## Important Clarifications
- Exposure Testing NZ is NOT itself accredited. The LABORATORY that analyses its samples is IANZ-accredited. Never describe this business as an accredited or IANZ-accredited laboratory.
- Vehicle asbestos testing is published from $750 + GST per vehicle, covering the callout, sampling, laboratory analysis and the certificate pack for up to three samples. Commercial rates for dealers, exporters and freight forwarders are quoted on request and are not published.
- Australia prohibits importing asbestos in any form and there is no exemption for the age of a vehicle, so a vehicle asbestos test is required regardless of how old the car is.
- Exposure Testing NZ does not carry out cleaning, remediation or asbestos removal. It tests and reports only.
- Methamphetamine thresholds: residential rentals are measured against 15 ug/100cm2 (decontamination) and 30 ug/100cm2 (uninhabitable) under the Residential Tenancies (Managing Methamphetamine Contamination) Regulations 2026, in force 16 April 2026. Sale and purchase, owner-occupied, commercial and insurance matters remain at the NZS 8510:2017 guideline of 1.5 ug/100cm2.
